Report of Paraguay-Bulgaria

First scoreless tie in this WC.

Oh, what a game!!! It certainly lived up to the much-hyped 'group of death' reputation; 'bore you to death' that is. You could almost hear the sighs of relief from Nigeria and Spain, both of which shouldn't have much difficulty to advance to the next stage if today's game is any guide.

Beside Stoitchkov's post-hitting shot, which was 'beautifully' set up by Paraguay's Acuna, and Cardozo's near miss, there was NO meaningful activity until very late in the game. Paraguay did manage to create some half chances, but they simply didn't know how to shoot on target. Some of their 'shots', if they could be so called, didn't even reach within the six-yard box area. The only bright moment of this game was Chilavert's free kick, which IMHO was the best in this WC so far. But it was well saved by Zdravkov.
