Stupid Cafu and Stupid Football Rule

Now Cafu will be suspended in the Semi-Final game against Netherlands. Guess in which flank Hiddink will play Overmars. Will Cafu's likely replacement Ze Carlos be able to handle him? I am quite worried.

Anyway, Cafu's booking in the Denmark game was simply too harsh. Exactly how many seconds did he *waste*? Ten? Or fifteen? Wasn't there a third assistant referee to time how many minutes to be added on at the end? Besides, the referee could extend the match to his discretion if he felt the need to do so. You see, time *wasting* is totally futile and a non-issue. It has no bearing on the match whatsoever. Then why should a player be booked for this in general? Puzzling! Amazing!! Most insoluble mystery!!!

Having said that, Cafu was very stupid for picking up a yellow card in the dying minutes against Chile, when Brazil was up 4:1, for a mistimed tackle on Salas at the half-way line, in a situation of absolute non-danger. Trully foolish act!
